DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED AOT

Hey
I'm currently rewatchig AoT for the first time, there are some things that I forgot, but it's honestly fantastic how interesting when you know the motives and why certain things are happening

I'm in S2E9, but knowing what will happen shortly after and at the end of S3, I had a brain error 😂

SnK has several plot holes, especially between pre- and post-timeskip. That's why it's overrated, but most people simply ignore it. You don't need to think about it.

This is a really interesting question, but it’s actually not that complicated once you think about it.

Eren can’t just see the future whenever he wants, the Attack Titan lets him send memories back, not look forward at will.

So when he touched Dina, nothing happened memory-wise because future Eren hadn’t sent anything back yet. As for controlling the Titans, that was more like a subconscious reaction, kind of like when he turned into a Titan just by trying to pick up a spoon, except this time, he had the Founding Titan’s power for a moment thanks to Dina’s royal blood.

He got a glimpse of the future when he touched Historia because future Eren had already lived those events and knew that moment would be the trigger and hence sends the memories back — through Grisha’s perspective.

the first comment is relatively valid though. wuen you get a story as complicated as AOT there will be one or two plot holes. it doesnt make it overrated or anything tho

When I was watching AOT Season 3, my mind was at peace. But when I reached Season 4, my head started hurting. I just can’t get AOT out of my mind anymore 🥲

Yeah, I agree with you
Tbh I'm not trying to find plotholes or anything, it was a genuine question, I'm just enjoying the ride

Oh, yeah, right! It's totally logical to think about it in the way that Eren manipulated any outcome that would have made it anything other than the one we see, it is pretty obvious 😅, just like he sent that titan away from Bertolt

In the rewatch now, I was kind of thrown off, because I remembered that it looked as if it was "triggered" whenever he touches/is touched by someone with royal blood (Dina, Rod, Historia..), and the whole future Eren manipulating events didn't even occur to me.. Talk about being immersed in a series!! 😂
Thanks

When Eren's head touched Zake, Zake was in human form, controlling titans and seeing the future are separate abilities of separate titans, in Zake's case we see that the royal blood allows the use of titan power more effectively, possibly if that is the case, the transmission of information through time is not well explained so we can't know for sure.

Maybe Eren didn't touch Dina long enough, he just punched her hand quickly, that was enough to activate his control powers, but not long enough to receive the future info.

mikasa says something to armin that suggests that her memories were messed with too though.

it could just be a bad translation or it could just be poorly worded though

shes says something along the lines of „you also remember“.
that only implies that she also remembers, not that she forgot.
if you choose to interpret that in a way that makes less sense in the story, thats on you.

so i am still waiting for you to name the plot holes
