Princess Connect! Re:Dive

In the continent of Astraea, a man falls from the sky, possessing no memories other than his name, Yuuki. An elf named Kokkoro finds him, introducing herself as his guide in the world they are about to traverse. With Kokkoro's guidance, Yuuki is able to learn how this world works, from battling monsters to handling currency.

To earn money for their journey, Yuuki and Kokkoro decide to go to a nearby guild association to accept a simple quest. In their expedition, they meet Pecorine, a somewhat gluttonous but charming girl skilled in battle. The next day, they also meet Karyl, a cat girl specializing in magic.

After some time, a bond of friendship and camaraderie forms between them, and the four decide to create a guild of their own. As they continue their adventures, they explore the world, meet new people, and will perhaps uncover the mysteries behind Yuuki's missing memories.

Well as far as game adaptations this one's easily the best (maybe except some H-game adaptations but those are a story for another time).

The animation is it's best point by far, and that's unusual for adaptations of this kind. If i had one nitpick is that one scene with the knights at the gate... 1 random CGI , they probably ran out of time . The story is not bad..... It's a comedy in the same style like Konosuba,but it has some serious moments,unlike the former. And the plot's decent, as far as what's probably a gacha game that is. Of course when you'd compare ... it to others like FGO who also has adaptations...yeah, that's all imma say.

There's honestly not much to complain about and not much to praise in particular either. It could have been worse it could've been better as well. As far as game adaptations go, it's a good one that in my personal opinion makes me curious about the game. Might try it. AS a watch, i recommend it, it's good enough.

The story follows Yuuki, a clueless protagonist who’s guided by an overly sweet group of girls in a fantasy RPG-like world. The plot itself doesn’t go deep in Season 1—it’s mostly episodic adventures with light-hearted comedy and slice-of-life antics. There are hints of a deeper lore, but they’re barely touched this season.

It’s not plot-driven—more like "quest of the week" episodes. Some are funny, some are forgettable. It slowly sets up something darker in the background, but if you're hoping for strong narrative tension in Season 1, it’s not really here.

Characterization: 7.5/10
The characters are cute, quirky, and very tropey—but fun. Pecorine is energetic and lovable, Kokkoro is calm and loyal, and Karyl... well, she has the tsundere-catgirl energy that keeps things spicy. Yuuki himself? Let’s just say he’s mostly there to eat and smile.

Animation / Visuals: 8.2/10
One of the anime’s biggest strengths. The animation is super polished—especially for a gacha game adaptation. Action scenes are smooth and colorful, and the character animations are full of life and expression.

Sound / Music / Audio Direction: 7.8/10
The music matches the light RPG tone well. The OP is cheerful, the ED is adorable, and the voice acting—especially Pecorine’s—is energetic and well-delivered. It all fits the anime’s playful tone.

Execution: 6.7/10
If you’re just here to vibe with cute characters and enjoy fun little quests, the anime does the job well. But if you’re expecting plot progression or emotional weight, you’ll probably feel like the show is just coasting until later seasons.

Seriously, the animation is top-tier for a mobile game anime. Even background gags are animated well.

• The cast is full of chaos and heart.
Whether they’re eating, fighting, or getting lost again—this party is a lovable mess.

• It’s low-stakes, chill fantasy.
You don’t need to think too much. It’s cozy, colorful, and doesn’t take itself seriously.

• Pecorine’s laugh. That’s it.
Once you hear it, you’ll understand. Pecorine energy is infectious.

• Hints of bigger things ahead.
There’s just enough mystery to make you wonder what the heck is actually going on with Yuuki and this world.

Cerita mengikuti Yuuki, cowok bingung yang diajak keliling dunia RPG oleh sekelompok cewek manis. Sepanjang season 1, ceritanya ringan dan lebih ke petualangan episodik dengan banyak komedi receh. Ada petunjuk soal misteri dunia ini, tapi belum digali mendalam.

Plot: 6.5/10
Plotnya nggak fokus—lebih ke “misi mingguan”. Beberapa episode lucu, beberapa datar aja. Di balik semua itu sebenarnya ada sesuatu yang lebih gelap, tapi di season ini masih diselipin tipis-tipis aja.

Pengembangan Karakter: 7.5/10
Karakternya kocak dan menggemaskan. Pecorine ceria dan doyan makan, Kokkoro lembut dan setia, Karyl bawa vibes tsundere + kucing yang bikin seru. Yuuki? Ya... dia ada, sih. Lebih sering bengong dan makan.

Visual / Animasi: 8.2/10
Ini nilai jual utama anime ini. Untuk ukuran adaptasi game HP, animasinya luar biasa rapi dan hidup. Adegan bertarungnya halus, efek sihirnya penuh warna, dan ekspresi karakternya lucu-lucu.

Musik / Audio: 7.8/10
Musiknya pas untuk dunia fantasi yang santai. Lagu pembukanya ceria, penutupnya imut. Akting suara karakternya juga pas, terutama Pecorine yang energinya luar biasa.

Kalau niatnya cuma mau nonton anime yang lucu dan santai, ini cocok banget. Tapi kalau kamu cari cerita yang berkembang atau emosional, mungkin bakal ngerasa “ini anime mau ngapain sih?”

I think I have a somewhat bias as I played Princess Connect! Re:Dive and was looking forward to this adaption. However I am pretty neutral to this, as the first season is 95% slice of life with no direction in a generic fantasy world. It does not tell you much of anything of who our main character is or what's happening, and that's further reinforced by him being a mute for essentially the whole season. Episode after episode is simply trying to introduce the plethora of characters due to this being from a gacha game. While the anime suffers tremendously from giving you any depth ... of characters or plot, it does have a great soundtrack and animation, mostly due to some staff being the same from Konosuba (yes this is partially why it took so long for Season 3 to release). However, those two factors are best enjoyed from an outside perspective, as your time is better spent watching clips on Youtube and listening to the soundtrack elsewhere. There really isn't a need for context when the context itself adds zero depth to what you're watching. It's not bad or awful, but it doesn't really attempt to be anything besides mediocre eye candy with funny interactions that rarely land. It can put a smile on my face though as a game fan, and it's decent. Very mid, nothing special, time could be better spent.
